• Andie MacDowell and Helen Mirren walked the Cannes Film Festival red carpet together on Friday.

• Photos show them embracing, dancing, and twirling each other into the day's movie screening.

• Though the two actors wore different dress styles, they both sported striking silver hair.

Andie MacDowell and Helen Mirren attended the Cannes Film Festival in France on Friday, and they seemingly had a blast together while there.

The actors were photographed on the red carpet, where they both wore flowing dresses and pointed black pumps — arguably two of the best looks seen at the festival this year.

MacDowell sported a brown-and-tan Christian Dior dress, which was sleeveless with a striped pattern and V-shaped neckline. Mirren chose a more striking look: a long-sleeved gown decorated with silver sequins and metallic fringe.

But it was their red-carpet interactions that really stole the show. Not only did MacDowell and Mirren pose for photos together, but they also embraced in passionate hugs before the "Mother and Son (Un Petit Frère)" screening.

They then danced together, with MacDowell twirling Mirren across the red carpet.

Mirren and MacDowell previously attended the 2021 Cannes Film Festival together, and were joined by Iris Berben at the time.

Though their outfits didn't match on either occasion, their stunning silver hair did.

MacDowell previously described her gray strands, which she debuted at last year's Cannes festival, to InStyle as a "really important" style moment that helped her accept her "authentic, true self."

She also told the publication that while some people "resisted" her natural gray, her daughters insisted that it looked "badass."

Mirren, on the other hand, told Vogue in 2021 that going gray was "easy" for her because she's always had light-blonde hair.

"Going gray is to be encouraged — that's not to say you can't have fun with your hair, because it's a very important part of how you feel about yourself," she said at the time. "People should do whatever makes them feel comfortable."

A trio of Hollywood beauties assembled on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet on Tuesday night, led by Andie MacDowell.

Linking up with pals Helen Mirren and Iris Berben, the threesome posed for snaps as they showed off their elegance in very different ensembles.

Andie, 63, stunned in an aquatic blue gown with black tasseled trim around her lithe waist, and showed off her natural grey locks that were styled into loose waves.

The dress featured a sparkling sequinned detailing at the top, which was reflected in her eye make-up, also marine blue.

She toted a silver clutch to mirror her silver strap heels and showed off a black manicure and matching pedicure.

The Green Card actress wore her famously wavy locks tumbling around her smiling features.

The L'Oreal Paris spokesperson proved herself to be the perfect canvas for the brand's products, showing off a stunning makeup look that was created by celebrity beauty pro Val Garland. 

To ensure that Andie's skin was glowing for her red carpet appearance, Val prepped the complexion with the L'Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Midnight Serum, which she layered under the brand's Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation and Infallible Fresh Wear 24H Concealer.

The actress's smoky eye came courtesy of the Colour Riche Monos Eyeshadow and several coats of the Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara.

Her makeup was topped off with the Colour Riche Lipstick in Classic Wine for a beautifully bold pout. 

Her makeup look clearly gave her plenty of confidence, because Andie happily posed for the photographers, before Helen, 75, and German actress Iris, 70, caught her attention.

Iris turned heads in a flowing white dress with black detailing at the top and the words Plus Forts Ensemble written across it, which means We're Stronger Together in English.

Iris' latest film - Triangle Of Sadness - co-stars Woody Harrelson, but has been paused on two occasions in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The stars were in attendance for a screening of Annette - with Helen on the arm of her husband Taylor Hackford.

The Oscar winning actress, 75, looked incredible in a yellow frock, which boasted shifton sleeves and a flowing skirt, while being nipped at the waist.

Helen oozed elegance in the ensemble, which she styled with a breathtaking emerald necklace and a pair of matching drop earrings.

The screen star wore her silver locks swept back off her features, which had enhanced with a full coat of make-up including a pink lip. Like Andie, Helen serves as a L'Oreal Paris spokesmodel, and she joined her fellow actress in repping the brand on the red carpet, modeling the same Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation that was used on Andie. 

Oscar-winner Helen's pout was perfected with 'a rosy pink wash' of the Brilliant Signature Lip Stain, which perfectly complemented the bold yellow of her dress and matching stilettos.  

Helen's American film director beau, 76, looked seriously dapper in a blue suit which he wore with a white shirt in bow tie.
