Disappointing facility!

Old building in a bad shape! Unfriendly and non competent staff! This is maybe a 2 stars hotel, not more. One positive point: nice spa area next door.

Hotel an der Therme Bad Orb is well located in the small scenic town of Bad Orb, and a good option for business travelers in the area.The facilities are quite nice, but the rooms are lacking air conditioning, which was a bit of a surprise considering the price. The attached "Therme" is a very nice attraction with many swimming and soaking options. Our only major issue was checking out. Our Hotels.com reservation clearly says 11:00AM, but the cleaning staff was at our door at 10:00AM and not very happy that we were still there. When we showed our reservation to the front desk staff, they basically said "too bad, it's 10:00AM". No consideration of our actual booking information.

Nice spot for a vacation

Overall the hotel looks a bit dated from the outside but nice and modern inside. The rooms I stayed in ( I switched rooms after the first night) were nice and big with view over the Kurpark and pretty much over the whole town, which was awesome ! My only complaint is the bar/ terrace, where people gather for a drink in the evening, is directly below all the rooms on that side of the building and therefore with windows open, like I had, it is noisy and, even worse, all the smoke from cigarettes drifts into the room, which is the reason I switched rooms :-( I must give the hotel a big plus for the breakfast, it was very tasty and plentyful !

Hotel close to the Therme

Nice Front Desk staff. Breakfast was good. Bed was comfortable. The hotel had a modern, but somewhat sterile ambiance.

Spacious hotel

Everything about this hotel [which is next to the thermal spa] is fabulous! The hotel is huge with large public spaces, excellent breakfast, good rooms and a fabulous restaurant.

I preferred the pillows and Betten the previous hotel chain used in this hotel The seats in the lobby and restaurant were also more comfortable before the hotel was renovated

sehr freundliches Personal - leider kein Hallenbad

Alles ok, aber der Lärm unmittelbar vor dem Hotel ist zuweilen unerträglich und wenig erholsam! Bad Orb bevorzugt offenbar Tagesgäste. Darunter leidet das Hotel und sein Erholungswert (z.B. unangenehm lautes Kurparkfest ganztags direkt vor dem Hotel). Schade, das Hotel würde ich gerne wieder besuchen, leider liegt es in Bad Orb, dessen Kurverwaltung offenbar der Masse den Vorzug gibt gegenüber Kultur und Niveau.

Bankrupt city

From what I understand the city of Bad Orb now owns the hotel. I saw maybe 10 other people staying at this medium sized hotel (6 floors). The place is clean but dated and worn. The bathrooms are of typical size, but the fixtures are dated. The hot water would fluctuate from hot to cold and back to hot. There was no english speaking channels on television until late evening when CNN and BBC were broadcast.
