NotesMore verses to this song: Sagt mir, Leute, ganz gewiß, Wenn mein Liebchen Hochzeit hat Wenn ich dann gestorben bin Wenn ich dann im Himmel bin, English Translation Tell me, people, to be certain, When my darling gets married, When I'm dead, When I go to heaven, There are a couple of transcription errors in the lyrics. This pair of singers have words different to what is listed above in two places: At the beginning of the 3rn line of the 3rd stanza, they sing "Geh dann" not "Geh ich". As is usual for poplar folk songs, there are many different versions of this one - no massive differences, but plenty of small differences. For example if you hear the song sung the chances of hearing "Pflanzt mir drauf" are about the same as those of hearing "Pflanzt nicht drauf". So the two "transcription errors" mentioned above are not important. Nor is it important that this version has 4 stanzas, omitting an extra one that is usually sung between what are numbered 2 and 3 here. Nor is it imortant even that this version has only 4 stanzas out of 7 (or are there more than 7? I don't know - but Volkslieder.do has only 7 stanzas for it, so I suspect there are only 7). What seems seems really weird is to pretend the artist is "German Folk" and that the song was "also" performed by the two artists who perform it on the video linked to from the lyrics page on LT. After all, "German Folk" is a genre of song, not an artist by any stretch of the imagination. Horch, was komm von draußen 'rein? Hollahi, hollaho! D'Leute haben's oft gesagt, hollahi, hollaho!
