The charm of this country house makes itself felt as you approach via a small bridge – it is safe to say the character of the idyllic old mill has been successfully preserved! Ruth and Harald Rüssel clearly put their heart and soul into running their hotel and restaurant. The chef-patron and his talented kitchen team propose a five- to seven-course set menu. Diners are won over by the quality of the ingredients, which they prefer to source from local producers; they even hunt their own game. The classical foundations of the cuisine always shine through, but are elegantly complemented by creative flourishes that never come across as fussy or unnecessary. Try out the surprising wine pairings – they tend to recommend fine Moselle wines. Head to the terrace to sit by a small lake! They also have appealing guestrooms.

On a tributary of the Mosel river, between the vineyards of the Mosel and the Saar-Ruwer, you will find RÜSSELs Landhaus. For wine lovers this romantic valley of the river Dhron is a wonderful place. The varied surroundings feature woodlands and meadows, as well as vineyards that are well worth a visit. The individually designed rooms and suites in this beautiful country house are rustic, modern or themed, such as a Mediterranean. Each suite has a large, luxurious bathroom with bathtub. The large garden at the rear of the hotel is at the edge of the forest. When relaxing in one of the loungers, you are sure to enjoy the sun and lovely scenery.

Chef Harald Rüssel and his sommelier-wife Ruth Rüssel create superb wine and dine arrangements. The ‘New German Cuisine’ in RÜSSELs Michelin Starred restaurant is highly regarded in Germany. Enjoy regional dishes in the less formal restaurant Hasenpfeffer. Regional produce forms the basis for the creative and modern dishes at both restaurants. These are of course all accompanied by fantastic wines – you wouldn’t expect anything less in this wine region.

Ruth and Harald Rüsel could hardly have found a more attractive location for their restaurant. It is a former mill, situated in a quiet valley and by a pond, which forms a beautiful terrace. The excellent, innovative cuisine is a feast for the eyes and a delight for the taste buds. To round off your meal, you can book one of the guest rooms in country house style or with a theme - the epitome of taste and homeliness.
